Description And features

Although it seems like just yesterday the celebrated AGM Rattler thermal riflescope family got upgraded with the introduction of the RattlerV2’s, the NEW RattlerV3 LRF testifies to the fact that evolution never stops. The RattlerV3 LRF 35-640 pairs a 35 mm Germanium lens with an industry-leading sub-15mK thermal sensor and a new 2560x2560 high resolution display, which combines to produce the best 640 resolution thermal image. These technical parameters work together to produce a detection range 1.5 miles. The RattlerV3 LRF also brings the once inconceivable new in-lens LRF technology to the compact Rattler series. A fully integrated 1,000m laser rangefinder is paired with a new on-board ballistic calculator. A newly designed eyepiece gives the RattlerV3 LRF 35-640 a base magnification of 2.5X, making it an optimal option for predator hunters in wide-open terrain, which entices longer range engagements. Its also the first Rattler ever to come with a shutterless NUC and AGM’s powerful new Image Boost 2.0 imaging algorithm. Large sturdy buttons were designed to aid gloved fingers in cold winter weather, while the removable rechargeable NE-4400 battery offers one of the most robust and easy to install battery systems on the market. The firmware package allows users an amazing level of customization: on-board pitch scale, 10 brightness and contrast settings, warm & cold viewing modes, multiple color palettes, picture in picture, ballistic calculation, on-board video recording with sound, WiFi hotspot, multiple zeroing profiles, shot activated video recording defective pixel repair, hotspot locator and multiple laser range finding modes. Also included is an American-made ADM mounting system.

Firmware Updates

FIRMWARE UPDATE INSTRUCTION

Please read the instructions below before updating the firmware.

Check current firmware version of your device, for this go to your device’s main menu to option “Info” or “Version” and check what number you have. Compare the number with the latest version of the firmware on the AGM website.

Download the firmware update package to your PC and unzip it.

NOTE: Do not open the DAV or BIN file on your computer as it may corrupt the file.

  1. Connect the thermal device to your PC with USB cable.
  2. Turn on the thermal device.
  3. Disable the Wi-Fi Hotspot function in the device menu if WiFi is enabled.
  4. Open the detected disk (USB drive) in file manager program. Copy the unzipped .dav file and paste it to the root directory of the device.
  5. Turn off the device.
  6. Turn on the device. After a while, the firmware update process will start automatically. During the update, the screen will display the inscription "Upgrading ...". The update process will be completed when the inscription "Upgrading ..." goes out. Repeat steps 4-6 for each updating file.
  7. Turn off the device and disconnect it from your PC.

WARNING:
If your device does not have a built-in rechargeable battery and is powered by replaceable Lithium batteries, remove the batteries from the battery compartment before connecting the device to your PC, or it may cause computer damage.

  • AGM Rattler V3 LRF 35-384, AGM Rattler V3 LRF 35-640, AGM Rattler V3 LRF 50-640, AGM EVOLVER LRF 1280, AGM Adder V2 LRF 35-384, AGM Adder V2 LRF 35-640, AGM Adder V2 LRF 50-640, AGM Adder V2 LRF 60-1280, AGM Spectrum LRF 4K

    Firmware Versions:

    • V5.5.156_260326

      1.        Main updates:

      1. Updated for only Spectrum LRF 4K to implement and align with new functionality.

      ① LRF Box Display Update:
      - Add the Rangefinding Reticle Style option in the Laser Ranging. (3 types)

      - Add the Rangefinding Reticle Color option in the Laser Ranging. (8 colors)

② Add reticle Opacity adjustment option. There are a total of 5 gear levels.

③ Privacy and Device Security Updates (CE-RED Directive Update)

④ Fixed the issue of small-angle jumps of the BDC impact point.

⑤ Fixed other minor defects on digital scopes to improve usability.

      2. Update all four models. (RattlerV3, AdderV2, Evolver & Spectrum LRF 4K)

① Supports using the shortcut key combination(LRF + Capture) to quickly enable/disable ballistic calculation in the main preview interface. (When the Reticle is enabled)

② "Opacity" has been renamed to "Reticle Brightness."
③ Fixed the rangefinding info overlapped with the rangefinding reticle under specific conditions.

④ Fixed minor defects during integration with the AGM Connect APP.

      3. Update for only thermal scopes RattlerV3, AdderV2, Evolver.

① The working logic of the PIP view center has been updated.

When ballistic calculation is enabled, the PIP view will be centered around the BDC impact point. This resolves the issue where the BDC impact point goes outside the PIP view when zooming in or at long distances.

      Note:

When BC is not enabled, the logic remains unchanged. The PIP center will still follow the priority order: Reticle Center / LRF Rangefinding Reticle / Main View Center.

Due to differences in functionality and hardware across models, the implementation of this feature may vary between different models.

      1.        384 models: When BC is enabled, the PIP view will always center around the BDC impact point.

      2.        1280 models: When BC is enabled, the PIP view will always center around the BDC impact point. (AdderV2-1280 & Evolver)

      3.        640 models: Due to underlying algorithm limitations, this feature conflicts with the Zoom Pro functionality on the 640 model.

Therefore, an improvement solution will be implemented on the 640 models.

      When ballistic calculation is enabled:

If Zoom Pro is not enabled, the PIP will center around the BDC impact point.

If Zoom Pro is enabled, the PIP will switch to being centered around the reticle center.

A prompt will be displayed to the user when enabling/disabling Zoom Pro.
