Description And features

The Asp TM-384 handheld observational thermal monocular is equipped with a 384 × 288 infrared detector and a 1024×768 OLED display. It supports functions of observation, hot spot tracking, distance measurement, Wi-Fi hot spot, and so on. The high-sensitivity built-in thermal detector provides you with clear view even in total darkness. The monocular is mainly applied to scenarios such as patrolling, law enforcement, searching and rescuing, drug enforcement, anti-smuggling, criminal seizing, hiking, travel, and hunting, etc. FUNCTIONS Distance Measurement:The device realizes distance measurement function after marking the top and bottom of target, and input the target height. Hot Spot Mark:The device detects and marks the hot spot of highest temperature. Wi-Fi & Hot Spot:Device can capture snapshots, record videos, and set parameters via APP after being connected to your phone. Mode Switch: Device supports pallet switch and distance measurement. Storage: Built-in memory module supports video recording/snapshot capturing. Digital Zoom:Device supports 1× and 2× digital zoom.

Firmware update

FIRMWARE UPDATE INSTRUCTION

Please read the instructions below before updating the firmware.
Check current firmware version of your device, for this go to your device’s main menu to option “Info” or “Version” and check what number you have. Compare the number with the latest version of the firmware on the AGM website.
Download the firmware update package to your PC and unzip it.

NOTE:
Do not open the DAV or BIN file on your computer as it may corrupt the file.

WARNING:
If your device does not have a built-in rechargeable battery and is powered by replaceable Lithium batteries, remove the batteries from the battery compartment before connecting the device to your PC, or it may cause computer damage.
If you removed the batteries, please make sure the device is connected to the computer during the update process. Otherwise, the device will shut off and may cause unnecessary upgrade failure, firmware damage, etc.

1. Connect the thermal device to your PC with USB cable.
2. Turn on the thermal device.
3. Disable the Wi-Fi Hotspot function in the device menu if WiFi is enabled.
4. Open the detected disk (USB drive) in file manager program. Copy the unzipped .dav file and paste it to the root directory of the device.
5. Turn off the device.
6. Turn on the device. After a while, the firmware update process will start automatically. During the update, the screen will display the inscription "Upgrading ...". The update process will be completed when the inscription "Upgrading ..." goes out.
Repeat steps 4-6 for each updating file.
7. Turn off the device and disconnect it from your PC.

I am highly impressed with this device. Can detect humans from other heat sources out to about 400 meters using a combination of shape and movement pattern. At 200 meters, body shape is visible, confirming sighting. The high definition display works like a traditional night vision device as well, showing most vegetation, building structure etc. Device is NOT affected by high contrast lighting - situations where a light amplification device may be blinded by car headlights, strong urban lighting.

25mm device appear to be ideal compromise between having a decent wide field of view - and being able to classify heat sources at a distance.

Color pallettes are useful. Normally 'Black Hot' is best for things living, but found it useless for fire detection. Fires would be large, black patches looking like shadows. The otherwise rather ugly 'Fusion' pallette is useful here, showing a bright yellow for fires, giving more temperature difference awareness than the black/white pallettes.

Review Title: Perfect in good weather condition and very poor in fog and rain

I have had the TM25-384 for a year now and have mixed feelings - in perfect weather condition it is brilliant - clear and sharp but it is extremely sensitive to fog and rain. I know thermal equipment is struggling in bad weather, but I have tried similar priced unit perform better in bad weather conditions. My next unit will not be a AGM.

It is a good monocular, lies comfortably in your hand, gives a good view. I am glad that there is wifi, I can connect it to the phone and then watch everything that has happened. The problem is that it is, as I already think, very expensive. It may be a justified price, but I have so far found other monoculars on the website with features that are cheaper by an average of 300 dollars. It would be good to compare their quality and functions.

This product has exceeded my expectations in every way. This is the second unit I own, the first was from the first batch and had a programming error which was promptly corrected. I am elated with not only the operation of this unit, but the service I received post purchase. I would definitely make this purchase again if the need arises. I had written a much more detailed review, but apparently the system thinks I am to verbose. If interested in more info, I will attempt to post on their facebook page. I am excited to be able to sing the praises of this unit and this company. Thank you Todd, Thank you Trent for all your help and dilligence!!
