FIRMWARE UPDATE INSTRUCTION

Please read the instructions below before updating the firmware.

Check current firmware version of your device, for this go to your device’s main menu to option “Info” or “Version” and check what number you have. Compare the number with the latest version of the firmware on the AGM website.

Download the firmware update package to your PC and unzip it.

NOTE: Do not open the DAV or BIN file on your computer as it may corrupt the file.

Connect the thermal device to your PC with USB cable.
Turn on the thermal device.
Disable the Wi-Fi Hotspot function in the device menu if WiFi is enabled.
Open the detected disk (USB drive) in file manager program. Copy the unzipped .dav file and paste it to the root directory of the device.
Turn off the device.
Turn on the device. After a while, the firmware update process will start automatically. During the update, the screen will display the inscription "Upgrading ...". The update process will be completed when the inscription "Upgrading ..." goes out. Repeat steps 4-6 for each updating file.
Turn off the device and disconnect it from your PC.

WARNING:
If your device does not have a built-in rechargeable battery and is powered by replaceable Lithium batteries, remove the batteries from the battery compartment before connecting the device to your PC, or it may cause computer damage.

If you removed the batteries, please make sure the device is connected to the computer during the update process. Otherwise, the device will shut off and may cause unnecessary upgrade failure, firmware damage, etc.

To begin the procedure for updating the firmware of your equipment, you must confirm that you are familiar with and agree to the "AGM GLOBAL VISION" Export Policy («AGM GLOBAL VISION» Export Policy). By continuing the process of updating your device, you are confirming that you received this device legally and in compliance with all applicable US export laws and that you are not on the Banned Persons List and/or are not affiliated with any of the Banned Persons as defined by the US Government.
If these conditions are met, please check the box on the left and follow the instructions for updating the hardware firmware.

I originally had the ASM 25, but had an issue with it. I called AGM and spoke with Todd. Todd, couldn't have been better to work with. Upgraded my thermal, and was responsive throughout. I was happy with my old unit, but the new Taipan is better in every way imaginable. Todd sent the RMA timely. I had some personal issues arise, and drug my feet returning the unit. Todd answered all my emails, and we spoke on the phone several times. He drove 1.5 hours to overnight my new thermal to me due to me needing it. This is not something they had to do, since it was my fault on getting the unit later than expected to them. Bottom line, I couldn't ask for better customer service, and the new unit is definitely an upgrade in everyway compared to the ASP25.

I am very impressed with My new thermal. I believe it uses the same sensor as the Flir Breach, yet there is no comparison in image quality. I have a pulsar scope which I really like, but not as much as I did before looking the rough my new monocular. The image at night is close to what I see out of my PVS-14 night vision. Very detailed, great image quality. The controls are intuitive though, though a little slower to operate than my Pulsar, but really, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase..

This, of course, is not the most expensive monocular, but for such a price, I would like a larger resolution. But, in general, it performs its tasks, plus - for me, it is very convenient.

I have been using this product for about a month now and really enjoy it. When coyote hunting I am easily picking up the heat at 500 yards, and able to identify the coyotes around 250 yards. Most of the use has been fairly rough. My only negative is that the little nob that adjusted the diopter fell off the first night, but, that hasn’t caused me any problems yet. Overall good product for the money and hope it keeps holding up.
